Cancelling and refunds

You can change your mind. Here's how it works.

Our refund promise

  • Within 14 days of buying: you can cancel for any reason and get a full refund. It doesn't matter whether you've filled any doors or sent the link.
  • Any time before 1 December: you can also cancel for a full refund, even if it's more than 14 days since you bought.
  • From 1 December, once more than 14 days have passed since you bought, we don't give refunds just for a change of mind, because your recipient has started opening doors. If something isn't working, see below.

So if you buy in October or November, you can cancel until the later of 14 days after buying and 30 November. If you buy in December, you have 14 days.

The same applies separately to a special style you add later: you can cancel it within 14 days of buying it, or before 1 December. Your house then goes back to one of the included styles.

By law, when you buy online in the EU you can cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. Sellers of digital services often ask you to tick a box agreeing to start straight away, so that they can charge you for what you've used, or so that you lose the right altogether.

We don't do that. There's no box to tick, and we never deduct anything: within the periods above you always get the full price back. Our promise includes your legal right and gives you more time. Nothing here reduces your rights under the law.

If something doesn't work

If your house doesn't work as we described, for example doors don't open on the right day, write to us. We'll fix it free of charge. If we can't fix it within a reasonable time, or the problem is serious, you can have a partial or full refund, depending on how much of the service you missed. This is your legal guarantee of conformity, it's separate from the refund promise above, and it lasts as long as your house is online.

How to cancel

Write to hello@theadventvillage.com with:

  • the house name and plot number (you don't need to send your private edit link);
  • the email address you used to pay, so we can find the payment.

A short message like "I want to cancel my house" is enough. You can also use the form below, but you don't have to.

We'll confirm by email and refund you within 14 days of your message, usually much sooner, using the same card or payment method you paid with. We don't charge anything for a refund. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.

When we refund a house, we take it offline and delete its doors and photos. Your recipient's link stops working. We keep only the payment record that tax law requires.
